Eastern Union (EU) is a Civil Society Organization rooted in the rich history and diverse culture of Nigeria’s old Eastern Region

Founded in 2006 and officially launched in 2007 at the Lagos Airport Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, EU is the brainchild of visionary leaders from the South-East and South-South zones of Nigeria. Our founders, driven by a shared commitment to political empowerment and good governance, brought together a dynamic and diverse membership base. This includes young professionals, members of various youth organizations, skilled artisans, respected elder statesmen and women, and business leaders, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora.
